Magnetic Therapies and Cyclo-Ssage Rug Therapy for Horses

Magnetic Rug Therapy for Horses Magnetic Rug Therapy for Horses

Magnetic Therapies

Magnets have been used in medicine for many thousands of years and are now widely used as a therapy for horses as a simple and natural way to boost health and well being. The iron in the blood is naturally attracted to the magnets which results in an increased flow of oxygen throughout the body. This increased flow makes the capillary walls relax and blood vessels widen, allowing more blood to pass through. This process not only delivers nutrients around the body quicker but also enables the faster removal of toxins through the horses lymphatic system. This can help to speed up the healing process by helping to reduce pain and inflammation.

Benefits

  • Helps bone conditions such as arthritis
  • Eases bruising, muscle pain, spasm and stiffness
  • Encourages relaxation
  • Improves tendon and soft tissue injuries
  • Stimulates the system allowing for detoxification
  • Improves circulation

The Equine Therapist has a number of different magnetic treatments available from insoles for medicine boots to leg wraps and also a magnetic rug. Magnetic leg wraps work in a very similar way to the rug. They cause blood vessels in the leg to dilate which stimulates blood flow down the leg and promotes healing.

Cyclo-Ssage Rug Therapy

The Cyclo-Ssage lightweight magnetic rugs have a series of small motors positioned throughout the rug in line with the various major muscle masses. These gently vibrate and stimulate the muscles in three different directions, called cycloidal massage, which helps to improve circulation and aid relaxation.  The intensity of the motor can be adjusted to specific treatment requirements.
